SAP Change & Transformation vs. Best Practice and Lessons Learned
SAP Workforce Performance Builder is a software solution for knowledge management and training using elements of ADKAR, centralized Knowledge Base (ITIL) and other knowledge and education delivery best practise methods the software if implemented correctly can be a great Change tool. From personal experience however I have been able to develop the same strategies and similar solutions for a lot less (cost and money) however an investment of at least 3 to 6 months minimum is needed for any training or change solution to get started/ramp up before ROI can be realised. However a planned approach is needed as just blindly sending staff to SAP training will not return the dividends invested planning, analysis, workforce skills mapping, transitional skills design and tailored training and cross skilling are needed. I have developed a unique blended approach to Change and Transformation and SAP Workforce Performance Builder is just a small cog in that solution.
SAP best practice overview is a guide to SAP packaged solution that provides preconfigured business processes and project accelerators created by SAP providing a general overview for SAP deployments. This is a great starting document to the solution and worth reading as an introduction to the complex subject of SAP best practice vs. deployment. A worthwhile investment especially with the savings that SAP tout with the system, but as with all SAP solutions, getting the right independent people to manage the deployment, with the right experience, following best practice methods is what delivers results.
Change the first 30 days by Bob Panic. I developed this guide as an introduction to my accelerated change and transformation working method, a generalist approach that has been tailored to many successful SAP implementations that I have delivered.
